Lightning-fast travel and a direct connection of the human brain to a computer are also possible. This is the reality that Frank Poole, the astronaut killed by HALA 9000 during a space walk in 2001: A Space Odyssey, learns about this reality. With the help of technology, it is brought back to life. Frank decides to solve the mystery of a monolith, which once allowed prehumans to develop, and now can be a big threat to her.
