Broken Ledge

The sunrise blinds the early risers of the city of New York. Morning brings the smell of a fresh scent in the cold air as the gray sky is lifting with a scatter of small rain drops. Mr. Arabeck, owner of a modest sized motel on the lower east side is packing his case to leave for Chicago, his wife accompanies him, you can hear the clanging of the suitcase wheels as they departed for the next three days. Maribelle waves goodbye to her trusting boss of six years, she is the most loyal employee Mr and Mrs Arabeck could hope for. She continues her scrubbing and waxing as though they never left. A knock at the door sees the arrival of Miss Alice Keriyan, the niece of the Arabecks. She is there to make sure business runs smoothly. Alice is quite the opposite of the Arabecks, a lose cannon at just twenty six, she would prefer to be filandering and enjoying the city lights than stuck behind the old creeking desk of the Arabeck Motel. Its late Friday evening and Miss Keriyan turns in for the night, or so Maribelle and two other motel guests believe. They all see her enter her room for the night and lock the door, so its to thier pure disbelif that come morning, Miss Keriyan is found dead out side the building a long drop from her room on the fourth floor. Under cover Private Dectective Frank Hudson pays a visit to the motel with un-cooperative Maribelle to greet him. Det. Hudson has few clues and fewer witnesses to aid in him solving the mysterious death of this young woman.
