City on Screen is a documentary exploring the part that the people of Birmingham (U.K.) have played in shaping the cinematic and television landscape. The film explores the legacy that people like Sir Michael Balcon, Oscar Deutsch and others have left in the world of film and examines how new and emerging filmmakers from the city can follow in the steps of trailblazers such as Steven Knight, Dame Julie Walters, Felicity Jones and others - in safeguarding, preserving and continuing Birmingham's often overlooked place in the world of cinema.
