When a young woman is found murdered, her story can only be told through the eyes of an acquaintance, a mysterious man who now lies on his death-bed. As he recounts her last days on earth, a dark past and tragic future come to light. Amidst a trivial life of right and wrong, choice and coincidence, cause and effect, there is a question that has no answer... 'Why?'.
