My Week on Welfare

The filmmaker was on welfare herself in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a 19 year old single mother in the 1980s. By staying with 2 different families who are on welfare now, and visiting a number of others, she explores what being on welfare is like now in 2015. She explores the myths and realities about who the people are on welfare, why they are on it and what their lives are like.
