Narrated by, Xolo Maridueña (star in Cobra Kai, and the upcoming Warner Brothers Feature Blue Beetle) "Told They Can't" is the original documentary film that tells the stories of ten kids who exemplify the indomitable human spirit. The grew up poor, hungry, abused, neglected, marginalized and certainly were not expected to become successful. Society, family and friends told them they can't make it. None of it kept them from achieving their lofty goals. Today they are engineers, doctors, medical professors, educators, authors, research scientists and elected state and federal government leaders. Each one of them deserves our deepest respect and fullest admiration. Their lives send an inspiring, unmistakable message to audiences. Since they overcame nearly impossible hardships to be successful, we all can beat the challenges we face and make our lives better too. Their experiences shine a glaring spotlight on society's indifferent and cruel treatment of children like they were. Kids who don't come from ideal traditional backgrounds. How and why does society fail kids like this? Doesn't every single child simply deserve to be treated with dignity? Aren't all children endowed with limitless human potential, no matter their background, ethnicity, family wealth or social status?
