"Origens"is a thirteen episode series that shows musical Brazilian people's personal and musical origins. The series follows a talk show format, in which the maestro, composer and musical arranger Jota Moraes talks to the his guests about their musical origin and plays with them a few of his songs and some of Brazil's most popular songs. From the traditional Brazilian popular music to the modern pagode. Since the 70's is hard to find a song that arrived to the top tracks that wasn't produced or arranged by Jota Moraes. Conducted from the honored man himself, the series is a musical documentary, exploiting Jota's life history and several other amazing artists, that remember peculiar career facts and also talk about Jota's captivating personality and his importance in the history of Brazilian music. The scenes are mixed with images and personal videos that illustrate Jota's career, which has begone in the 60's. Besides, the series presents performances never viewed before of the maestro next to great Brazilian artists, such as Alexandre Pires, Djavan, Ed Motta, Michael Sullivan, Eliana Pittman, Rildo Hora, Péricles, Maria Rita, Leila Pinheiro, Arthur Maia, Tunai, Marcos Pontes, Mauricio Piassarollo, amongst other great musicians. The main subjects of the narrative are the beginning of his career in the country side of Sao Paulo, his influences and family tradition, his bands, the first jobs with well known artists, the soundtrack market, and the motel jingle that became a hit performed by Maria Bethânia, Gonzaguinha's partnership, the variety and the revolution of musical arrangements in several genders, the production of real master pieces of the Brazilian music and the national and international tours.
